Feeling green? Not so much with this 2013 Pantone color of the year!
How do you plan on incorporating Emerald into your designs, weddings, home decor or fashion?

The new DC home boasts a gorgeous little back patio which often lends itself to me for my home office. As it gets colder I hope Chase and I can finalize all the design elements in our home before winter hits.
My advertising professor Ann Lemon knows everyone and has worked everywhere in advertising industry. In class we reference various Ads and every other word out of her mouth is “oh I know them”, “I helped design that Ad”. Lemon is a great inspiration to us all and having her lead you her creative mind has changed me a designer! This past wednesday Lemon took her advertising class to New York City to visit Publicis Modem- and interactive advertising company, McGarry Bowen- advertising agency, and Hillary Black- a headhunter from Kay & Black (she’s the black).
“You need to be a person who is interesting and interested.” - Karen Fickenor
Lesson learned from Publicis Modem.
If my dream job opportunity presents itself to me I should drop whatever I’m doing and pursue the chance of a lifetime.
Lesson learned from McGarry Bowen- Adam Tatz postponed his honeymoon to interview for the job at McGarry Bown, needless to say he got the job and on the return from his honeymoon he had a job.
“Take what you want and leave the rest.” -Hillary Black
“Be your best advocate.” - Hillary Black
“Go with your gut.” - Hillary Black
Lesson Learned from Hillary Black- Headhunter from Kay & Black. Hillary gave some of the best advice anyone could give a designer. She makes you feel at ease and gives you the tools to be prepared to enter the real world of design.
Uta Barth is a contemporary photographer. Barth has used photoraphy exclusively in her aesthetic projects, experimenting with depth of field, focus and framing to take photographs that are suggestive rather than descriptive, alluding to places rather than describing them explicitly.
My best friend Rachel Hickey and I are the Senior Graphic Designer for this years “Essence- fine arts and literary magazine”, so we decided to take Uta Brath’s style of photography and use that style to project the essence of light. We ventured out in our natural surroundings, and our results are quite beautiful!
